Chilean Pomachiliini My research focus on the tribe Pomachiliini (Elaterinae) (Candèze 1859) that originally contained over 25 genera which occur in the Holarctic, Nearctic, and Neotropical Regions, and in New Zealand. During my studies a systematic analysis revealed that a number of these genera do not belong to Pomachiliini. A phylogenetic analysis using PAUP revealed that only the South American taxa should be in this tribe.
