This slender, red-legged Ceroglossus species was one of the special "target taxa" that we really hoped to find. We spent a lot of time fruitlessly searching for them during the day, but we didn't find any until we went out at night and searched with flashlights. In fact, many ground beetles are nocturnal hunters, so the best way to find them is to go outside at the same time they do.
