One of the most exciting under-log finds: a pair of beautiful little onychophorans, or "velvet worms" (genus Peripatus). These animals aren't worms at all, but are their own serparate group-- unlike worms, they have many small legs with tiny claws, and a pair of slime glands near the mouth.
